Navy submarine patches: design and selection
Explore submarine insignia by boat name, hull number and emblem. Compare the full designation to distinguish boats that share a name or belong to different classes.
- Read the full unit, aircraft or ship designation.
- Compare listed dimensions, construction and backing.
- Review the photographs for the exact artwork and wording.
A collection can be organized around an assignment, a particular aircraft or ship, or a series of related unit emblems. Use the wording and artwork to build that connection deliberately. Similar nicknames, colors or silhouettes do not necessarily identify the same organization or period.
Heritage behind the collection
The Navy purchased Holland on 11 April 1900 and commissioned her as USS Holland on 12 October that year. Those milestones mark the beginning of the U.S. Navy submarine force whose boats and crews are remembered in submarine memorabilia.

Compare the individual product details
Attachment options vary by product. A removable hook-and-loop version is different from a sew-on or iron-on patch, so use the individual listing rather than the category name to identify the backing. For a gift or display grouping, the precise unit and design often matter as much as the overall subject.
