MALS squadron patches: design and selection
Recognize the Marine aviation logistics community through its unit insignia. Compare MALS numbers, nicknames and the particular artwork shown for each squadron design.
- Read the full unit, aircraft or ship designation.
- Compare listed dimensions, construction and backing.
- Review the photographs for the exact artwork and wording.
A collection can be organized around an assignment, a particular aircraft or ship, or a series of related unit emblems. Use the wording and artwork to build that connection deliberately. Similar nicknames, colors or silhouettes do not necessarily identify the same organization or period.
Heritage behind the collection
Marine aviation logistics squadrons provide aviation maintenance and supply support to flying units. Their emblems recognize a support community whose work is essential to the aircraft mission rather than being a separate aircraft type.

Compare the individual product details
Attachment options vary by product. A removable hook-and-loop version is different from a sew-on or iron-on patch, so use the individual listing rather than the category name to identify the backing. For a gift or display grouping, the precise unit and design often matter as much as the overall subject.
