HMH squadron patches: design and selection
Explore heavy-helicopter squadron designs by HMH number, nickname and artwork. Aircraft versions and special designs can distinguish patches associated with the same unit.
- Read the full unit, aircraft or ship designation.
- Compare listed dimensions, construction and backing.
- Review the photographs for the exact artwork and wording.
A collection can be organized around an assignment, a particular aircraft or ship, or a series of related unit emblems. Use the wording and artwork to build that connection deliberately. Similar nicknames, colors or silhouettes do not necessarily identify the same organization or period.
Heritage behind the collection
Marine aviation doctrine identifies the Marine heavy helicopter squadron role and associates it with CH-53D/E in its historical aircraft table. Unit letters therefore help distinguish a squadron community from a particular aircraft marking or special design.

Compare the individual product details
Attachment options vary by product. A removable hook-and-loop version is different from a sew-on or iron-on patch, so use the individual listing rather than the category name to identify the backing. For a gift or display grouping, the precise unit and design often matter as much as the overall subject.
