Thanks to an innovative propeller-driven design with twin radial engines, the Grumman S2 Tracker (S2F prior to 1962) aircraft could provide anti-submarine capabilities for US Navy ships. It was propeller-driven and originally built by Grumman before they were bought out, making it one of our most iconic American planes.  It entered service with United States Navy in 1953 and quickly became popular with many different countries due to its versatility.
