Sea Control Squadron 37 or VS-37 also known as the “Sawbucks” was an Anti Submarine Warfare squadron that was decommissioned in 1995 along with CVW-15.[1] During its active history, it flew during the Korean and Vietnam Wars[2] as well as operating the last S-2 Trackers inservice with the US Navy in 1975.
Daniel Rumfelt –
My father brought the S2F into service and flew it for his entire career as a Naval Aviation Officer. VS-37 was one of the squadrons I remember best. This model is exquisitely crafted. Details and markings are neatly applied and painted. It has a place of honor beside by father’s CDR portrait and reminds me of the excellent service he gave his nation. My mother was in awe when she saw it. Thank you to Squadron Nostalgia for these models. They sent photos prior to final shipping and the model was packed very well against the handling of shipping. Arrived without a scratch.
