Oberon Class Submarine Model
The Oberon class was a series of 27 submarines designed and built by British shipyards between 1957 and 1978. These submarines were operated by five different nations and were based on the previous Porpoise class, with improved hull construction and updated equipment. Four shipyards, including Cammell Laird, Chatham Dockyard, Scotts Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, and Vickers-Armstrongs, built the Oberon class submarines. The Royal Navy, the Royal Australian Navy, the Brazilian Navy, the Royal Canadian Navy/Canadian Forces Maritime Command, and the Chilean Navy all operated this class.
