During 1964, began conversion to the C-130E at NAS Norfolk, Virginia. Shortly after, in 1965, the squadron was relocated to NAS Moffett Field. Thus served both Atlantic and Pacific Divisions MATS/MAC. Disbanded in April 1967 with the last flight on March 31, 1967 on the finishing end of a round trip to Vietnam. Reinstated again at NAS Rota, Spain in October 1984 after being detachment from VR-24. Disbanded in April 1993.
