Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron SIX (HS-6) was established on 1 June 1956.
Completed a deployment – under the designation HS-6, and flying the Sikorsky SH-60F and HH-60H – aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68), 1Jan10 to 26Mar10. The area of operations was the Western Pacific and the Arabian Sea. HS-6 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) – tailcode NH. The USS Nimitz was assigned to Carrier Strike Group 11 (CSG-11).
