Description
Erickson Aero Tanker DC-7 Model
This model depicts the last airworthy DC-7. This piston-powered Douglas DC-7, owned by Erickson Aero Tanker, was the crown jewel of the airline industry in the 1950s before being converted to fight wildfires. Tanker 60 started its life with Eastern Air Lines in 1958, and spent its early years flying up and down the eastern seaboard and into the Caribbean. Tanker 60 saw its exit in 1966 as the airlines rapidly transitioned to the jet age. As of 2020, it has now been retired from service. Our model honors last milestone.
