KB-732, a Lancaster bomber built in Canada, is considered one of the most successful of its kind. It had the serial number 33 out of 430 Lancasters produced at the Victory Aircraft factory in Malton, Ontario during World War II. In April 1944, KB-732 was sent to Britain and became a part of No. 419 Squadron, which was part of No. 6 Group, the Canadian branch of Bomber Command. The squadron was based at Middleton-St. George, near York, and KB-732 was given the marking VR-X, with “VR” representing the squadron and “X” designating the specific aircraft within the squadron.
