305TH AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SQUADRON
The 305th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS), formerly the 305th Periodic Maintenance Squadron, was activated on 16 June 1952, operating from MacDill AFB, FL, as part of the 305th Bombardment Wing. On 1 October 1994, the Squadron was redesignated as the 305th Aircraft Generation Squadron at McGuire AFB, NJ. As of 1 October 2002, the Squadron became the 305th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. The 300 plus members of the 305th Aircraft Maintenance perform scheduled and unscheduled organizational-level maintenance for 13 assigned C-17A aircraft valued at $2.9 billion. The Squadron is ready to deploy at a moment’s notice to support the United States’ strategic objectives.
