USS Cheyenne (SSN 773), the final Los Angeles-class submarine, is the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for Cheyenne, Wyoming. Her keel was laid down on July 6, 1992, launched on April 16, 1995 and commissioned on Sept. 13, 1996. CHEYENNE is one of the most capable nuclear attack submarines in the world.
