Marine Corps Air Station New River (MCAS New River) is a United States Marine Corps helicopter and tilt-rotor base located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. In 1972, the airfield was named McCutcheon Field in honor of General Keith B. McCutcheon, one of the pioneers of Marine Corps helicopter aviation. The base is situated near Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and shares some facilities with Camp Geiger.

The base’s history began in 1941 when 29 parcels of land were purchased for $64,502. Officials from Camp Lejeune were searching for an existing airfield that could support amphibious operations and found that the farmland would suit their needs. The area was placed under the command of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and received its first squadron, VMSB-331, in March 1943. Over the next few years, the base trained paratrooper Marines, glider troops, and air delivery personnel.

After World War II, MCAS New River was closed and returned to a caretaker status as an outlying airfield of MCAS Cherry Point. However, in 1951 the base was reactivated and was renamed several times until it was commissioned as Marine Corps Air Station (Helicopter) New River in 1968. This marked its growth from a small training area to a major operational airfield. In 2015 and 2016, MCAS New River hosted the Global Rallycross racing series, but the event did not return for the 2017 season.
