Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 (HMLA-167) is a United States Marine Corps helicopter squadron based at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina. The squadron is composed of AH-1W SuperCobra attack helicopters and UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters, and is known as the “Warriors”. They fall under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 29 (MAG-29) and the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (2nd MAW). The squadron’s mission is to provide offensive air support, utility support, armed escort, and airborne supporting arms coordination for the Marine Air-Ground Task Force commander in day or night under all weather conditions during expeditionary, joint or combined operations. The squadron has a history of service dating back to the Vietnam War, and has also been involved in operations in the Persian Gulf, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Lebanon.
