In January of 1959, she was sold to Fike Plumbing, Inc. and her civil registration was assigned as N9167Z. She remained in Arizona for several years after she was first sold and changed ownership several times during this period. In l963, she was obtained for use as a corporate transport and the interior was modified with executive seats and fittings. After a couple of years use as a corporate aircraft she was sold at an auction through a bankruptcy disposal. She was moved to California and maintenance was performed to bring the aircraft back to airworthy status. In 1972, she was sold to Dr. Allan Crobsy of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Dr. Crosby used her frequently within his medical practice flying to patients in remote areas. Some of Dr. Crosby’s calls took him into rough terrain including some Indian Reservations with small and rugged landing strips. When not in commercial use she was also flown to local air shows. During this time, she was operated as “The Devil Made Me Do It”. In 1987 she was obtained by Tom Reilly and flown to Kissimmee, Florida for maintenance. The airframe was reworked and returned to a standard glass nose from the modified nose that was on the aircraft. She was then sold to Mid South Lumber Company of Cropwell, Alabama in June of 1988. By November of 1992, she was sold again to Exec Aviation, Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio. She underwent a restoration at that time and her registration was changed to N345BG. At this time she carried the markings of the 345th Bomb Group and was named “Man of War”. After some six years in Ohio she was sold to Bud Firth and moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana from where she operated until obtained by the Blue Yonder group and Dave Wheaton in Oklahoma in 1999. She was then renamed “Martha Jean”. In April of 1997, she was sold to Lost in the Forties Aviation of Wilmington, Delaware. In 2011, she was purchased by the Liberty Aviation Museum and was extensively restored.
